 Following a meeting held over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the union government had announce the cancellation of this year's CBSE Board 2021 examination for Class 12 students on Tuesday.


The government stated in a statement issued Tuesday evening that the decision was made "in context of the uncertain conditions due to COVID 19 Disease  and lock down in many states de to that.

Two days prior to the next Supreme Court hearing in this respect, the meeting was held on Tuesday night.


Sources indicate that the PM was briefed on the national consultation which took place on May 23 and feedback from the States on two CBSE formats proposed for the study of school leaving.


The Union Government submitted two options for the school examination to the States during its national consultation on 23 May.
Under option A, examinations would have to be held at designated examination centres, with 19 main subjects in the "existing format," while marks for minor subjects are calculated on the basis of performance in main subjects.
