 The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) has launched new courses on electric vehicles and renewable energy, design for IOT, business and sustainability for the SWAYAM platform semester in July 2021, joint venture between the Indian Institutes of Tech (IIT) and the Indian Science Institute (IISc).


The course is cost-free and is taught in faculties IIT and IISc.
Learners have access to the https://swayam.gov.in/NPTEL programme of NPTEL courses.
The first set of NPTEL courses will take place on 2 August 2021 at the last date. 

"Swayam-NPTEL is currently working with more than 4,000 educational institutes in Engineering, Arts, Science, Trade and Management throughout the country and highlights the unique aspects of NPTEL, Professor Vignesh Muthuvijayan, NPTEL Coordinator at IIT Madras.


NPTEL offers Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) certification training, where students need to watch videos, submit weekly or monthly applications, and take the final optional, projected examination.
According to an official statement, the examination has a nominal fee. 

If students are accepted by the educational school they are enrolled in, they may also request the transfer of credits after they clear the certification NPTEL exam.


NPTEL is trained in the fields of engineering, science, fundamental sciences and administration.
More than 1.4 crore registrations have been received until now.
